38-year old Manjunath was beheaded by his tenant Syed Altaf, 40, and his two sons aged 14 and 15 following a dispute arising from Altaf being unable to pay rent for a property rented from Manjunath, Times Of India has reported.
Manjunath’s severed head has been found from the property but the body is still missing. Altaf and his two sons had dumped the headless body in the Vrishabhavathi river after murdering him and cutting off the head.
Altaf had rented Manjunath’s property in Kempalinganahalli near Nelamangla for opening a wood factory a few months ago, but was unable to pay the rent leading to a dispute a week ago.
Following the dispute, Altaf and his two sons – who are minors – conspired to kill Manjunath and called him to a shed in the property on the pretext of clearing the rent. Once there, they slit Manjunath’s throat and then beheaded him before burying his head on the property. The headless body was then dumped into the river.
Following Majunath’s disappearance, Altaf was arrested by the police after he was found loitering suspiciously, after which he confessed to murdering Manjunath in collusion with his sons.
Although the head has been recovered, the police are still scouring the river for the body. Altaf’s two sons have been sent to juvenile home
