Many religious organizations have got eyebrows after the case of forcible conversion of Dalits in Mewat has emerged. The latest case is of the village Mohalaka of Nagina block. Here a dalit family did not adopt a Muslim religion, then the villagers attacked them with a deadly weapons. They also insulted the Dalit family by addressing them with caste words. On the complaint of the victim, the case has been registered against five persons including a woman in Nagina police station under various sections.
According to the complaints of Kishan living in Mohalla, the village residents were putting pressure on their family to change religion. On Monday morning at around 6 am, Islam, Taufiq, Mossim, Ataru, and Asmina attacked his family with sticks and ropes. They also humiliated him by addressing them with caste words. Kishan suffered serious injuries in the attack.
Police officer Vipin Kadian says that the complaint of the Dalit family has been Registered and a case has been registered against five persons, including a woman, under different sections. The accused will be arrested soon.
This is not the first case
Earlier cases of forced conversion have come out in Mewat area. In October 2017, two teachers in Mewat Model School were accused of pressuring students to forcibly pray. This matter has been in the headlines for quite some time. Later DC was transferred them. Before this, cases of conversion of religion have also been reported in Kulharda, Bhakshogi and Padla Shahpur. In most of these cases, conversion of poor families was done.
