I’m a Hindu, but I’m not religious. I have a few Christian friends who are pressuring me to become a Christian. One of them even bought me a Bible and I accepted it, but donated it to Goodwill the next day.
Here is one interesting answer to the question on quora :
It can get pretty annoying. I have been hounded by Christian missionaries and Muslims alike so I know it can get really really frustrating. There are two ways you can deal with this.
- Sit down and talk to them- Tell them you are NOT interested in discussing religion. You are NOT going to change your religion no matter what. You are NOT going to out up with any of their comebacks for your decision to NOT convert.
- Sit down and talk to them- Do your research. Appear interested. Ask dificult questions and corner them. Also bring up your own religion from time to time. Make them uncomfortable by bowing down to your idols, gifting them your holy books etc. Basically reciprocate their actions. Return the favor.
If they are your “friends”, they will apologize sooner or later or maybe stop doing this withkut apologizing. If they are just out to convert you, they will leave you alone in which case don’t feel sorry they left. If anything, praise your Hindu god when they are running away.
