Mizoram church gives money to it’s members to encourage more babies despite India’s rising population!

A local church in Mizoram has announced cash incentives to it’s members who are ready to have a fourth child or even more.

Cash incentives will go up accordingly starting from the fourth-born where the child will get 4000, 5th child will get 5000 and so on.

In an effort to encourage the birth rate, the Mizoram baptist church from Lunglei’s Bazar Veng has decided to bless new born babies with cash.

“The decision was unanimously decided by Bazar Veng Baptist Church committee last year and from this month, the church will award cash to new babies,” secretary of bazar Veng, C. Biakchungnunga said.

“There is no upper ceiling, the more the babies are born the more cash we will dole out.”

The baptist church in another effort to encourage more babies has also fecilitated newly weds with cash prize of Rs. 5000.

The church’s new move has attracted mixed reactions from different people. While few advocated the church’s initiatives, some have tagged it as an irresponsible move.
