Barely a week had passed since the Supreme Court sent the four men who gangraped and brutalised Nirbhaya when Rohtak district in Haryana witnessed a gorier crime than what was committed on December 16, 2012 in Delhi.
A young girl was abducted in Haryana’s Rohtak, taken to a secluded place and allegedly gangraped by seven persons. Her mutilated body was found on May 11. Police is investigating the case.

Police were stunned to see the state of the body. The victim had been brutally raped. Body bore several injury marks.
Sharp-edged objects had been inserted into the private parts of the victim. Her head had been smashed. A vehicle had been run over her.
The perpetrators of the crime tried to disfigure her to hide the identity of the victim.
The forensic team that conducted the investigation said that the victim was gang raped and mutilated with sharp-edged weapons.
“The victim was tortured and her body was mutilated and tortured after the gang rape. She was killed after being raped involving at least seven people. Her skull was smashed in a way which indicates that she was run over by a vehicle in order to hide her identity,” the forensic team has stated.
The forensic team also found some drugs in viscera samples taken from the victim’s body.
POLICE ASCERTAIN IDENTITY
When her body was found at an empty plot in Rohtak, the police first tried to ascertain the identity of the victim. Their search led them to the missing complaint lodged in the neighbouring district of Sonepat.
The parents of the girl were called to Rohtak for body identification. They confirmed that it was the body of their daughter.
The parents named the prime suspect, who according to them, had been harassing the victim for past one year.
They told the police that prime accused was their neighbour identified as Sumit, who had visited their home only a few days ago. The deceased had turned his proposal for marriage following which Sumit threatened her with ‘befitting reply with dire consequences’.
Now, parents want justice for their daughter.
