Nitish Kumar Gave Tight Slap To Congress And This Is What He Said When Asked To Support Meira Kumar

On Thursday, Nitish Kumar indicated that JD(U) would continue to back Ram Nath Kovind and that Meira Kumar was been set up to lose by the Opposition. He said: “We have a lot of respect for #MeiraKumar ji, but ‘Bihar ki beti’ has been nominated only to lose?We have taken independent decisions in the past also, we had supported Pranab da as President when we were in NDA.”

Earlier, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar faced fresh calls from ally and RJD chief Lalu Prasad as well as from some opposition parties to reconsider his party JD(U)’s support to NDA presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind.

Describing the Congress-led opposition nominee Meira Kumar as “Bihar ki Beti” (daughter of Bihar), Prasad appealed to Kumar for the second time in two days to “mend the historic blunder” in extending the JD(U)’s backing to Kovind. Meira Kumar’s candidature was announced yesterday.
