Shocking Report on the plight of Assamese because of illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants, Why No Left Media Talks About It ?

Republic TV on Monday accessed an exclusive report by Committee for Protection of Land Rights of Indigenous People of Assam, a committee appointed by the Government of Assam, which highlights how the identity and security of the people of Assam are under threat because of illegal immigration of Bangladeshi’s across the international border. The report puts forth certain startling details of illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Assam and how Bangladeshis have a dominant presence in 15 of 33 districts of Assam.

The document states that one of the greatest threat to identity and security of indigenous people is that the “people of Assam reduced to a landless class, because of unrestricted Bangladeshi infiltration.” The shocking, never seen before report reveals how it is an organised encroachment of land by Bangladeshi being carried out across the state of Assam.

“Organised encroachments on the lands of the Hindu Satras, murders of Satradhikars and rape of women from the Satras”

Page eight of the interim report by the Government of Assam states that “there are instances where indigenous people, instead of cultivating their cropland, engage illegal Bangladeshis for the cultivation of their land, first by crop-sharing arrangements than by partly handing over possession of the plot in lieu of their services or by mortgaging parts of the land or by even selling parts of such land in connivance with the corrupt land revenue officers, all of which makes the transfer of land smooth and facile.”

The interim report adds that local Hindu religious leaders are being targeted – “Organised encroachments on the lands of the Hindu Satras, murders of Satradhikars and rape of women from the Satras”
