Never in his dreams, director S.S. Rajamouli must have imagined that his vision and his dream about Baahubali would become a reality one day.
Baahubali: The Beginning earned Rs.600 crore globally whereas Baahubali: The Conclusion has already touched Rs.800+crore in mere 7 days.
Now, after entertaining the global audience with the Baahubali franchise, S.S. Rajamouli has a new vision and no, it’s not going to be the third Baahubali movie.
Well, the film-maker has expressed his interest in another historic war drama- Mahabharata.
Speaking to a leading international magazine, the film-maker ruled out the idea of making a third Baahubali movie and said, “Because we have the market and if we made a film for the market without having a compelling story that would not be honest filmmaking. But who knows, if my father comes up with a compelling story, like he did before, then there is no stopping, we can always make it.”
Then, talking about his future projects, S.S. Rajamouli dismissed all the reports of being associated with any film and said, “Mahabharata’ I want to do, but ten years down the line, not now.”
For those who came in late – Baahubali: The Beginning released in 2015 had a lifelong collection of around 650 crores and its sequel, Baahubali: The Conclusion has already collected that much in less than one week. He’s not in a hurry to make another film just as yet. The only project he’s interested in is bringing the great Indian epic, The Mahabharata into celluloid. That’s what he said about his dream project in a recent interview: “Mahabharata’ I want to do, but ten years down the line, not now.” So, all you movie buffs out there, be prepared to play the waiting game.
