Firebrand Bharatiya Janata Party leader Yogi Adityanath will take oath as chief minister of Uttar Pradesh at a function in Lucknow’s Kanshiram memorial ground at 2.15pm on Sunday. The 44-year-old five-term MP from Gorakhpur was unanimously elected by the BJP legislature party leader at a meeting of the newly elected MLAs. State BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya and party’s national vice-president Dinesh Sharma will be the deputy chief ministers.
Celebrations began in Yogi Adityanath’s residence in Panchur in Uttarakhand. Speaking to ANI, retired forest ranger and father of Yogi Adityanath said he always wanted to serve people. ”From the very start he had this aim of serving the people, now that he has become chief minister I’m really very happy,”he said.
