According to mythology, Raja Ramarayanam was then the Zamindar of the Gorasa near Samalkot Since the Lord ordained him in his dream. On the top of the hill, the Annavaram Satyanarayana temple was constructed, and devotees can see the Bay of Bengal from here at a distance of 11 miles. Four hundred sixty stone steps lead to the hilltop.
