Communal Tension gripped Jammu against the alleged desecration of Hanuman temple

Communal Tension gripped Jammu as an angry crowd, protesting against the alleged desecration of Hanuman temp at Trikuta Nagar extension, blocked roads on Thursday Moning.

Sources said trouble began in the morning when a few devotees saw the idol of Hanuman boken into pieces in a small temple located at Trikuta Nagar Jammu. The goons allegedly broke the protective glass in front of the idols.

The news spread like wid fire in Jammu and Bajrang dal activists immediately reached the spot demanding strict action against miscreants.

“Jai Shri Ram’ slogans resound outside the Hanuman temple.

“Every year before the Amarnath yatra, some miscreants create an atmosphere of dread in Jammu region by performing such scariligious acts”, Bajrang Dal President, Rajesh Gupta said.

Meanwhile, police has reached the spot and investigation has begun. Police is refraining from making any comments as there is no evidence that points out to the alleged ‘desceration’ as of now. “There were two idols (murtis) in the premisis of the said temple. If the motive of the culprits would have been to hurt the sentiments of a particular community, they would have broken both the idols.”, said Inspector Vikas Gupta.

It is also pertinent to note here that there is no CCTV installed in the area.
