Even as the winter is coming to an end, Rahul Gandhi made sure the netizens furiously looked up for jackets’ prices online. Nope, not for purchasing purposes.
It all started when the Congress president Rahul Gandhi sported the “expensive” apparel while attending a concert in Shillong.
Soon, BJP took potshots at Gandhi over his jacket, which they claim cost nearly Rs 70,000
So @OfficeOfRG , soot(pun intended!)-boot ki sarkar with ‘black’ money fleeced from Meghalayan State exchequer by rampant corruption? Instead of singing away our woes, you could have given a report card of your inefficient govt in Meghalaya! Your indifference mocks us! pic.twitter.com/sRvj5eoyRb

This led numerous Congress leaders, including Renuka Chaudhury and Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, defend the action of the Gandhi scion. But hardly did those hypocritical remarks stop the BJP or the common Indian masses from taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi.
Now, to defend Gandhi perfectly, Chaudhury invented a great idea. Her idea was to ridicule PM Modi once again and say that the jacket was a duplicate one, which can be found on the streets of India for Rs 700. You may read her response here. But her plot fell flat as Burberry itself came up with this letter –
Just to find the truth of @OfficeOfRG 's jacket, I wrote to Burberry with the picture of the jacket.
Burberry says the jacket costs
Who is lying?
Burberry or @INCIndia ? pic.twitter.com/cRhTmcfMEP
