Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil who was recently released from terrorist captivity in Yemen said that he is ready to go back to Yemen.
Addressing a press meet in Kochi, the priest said if God wants him to go to Yemen, he will definitely do it.
“I don’t know about the terrorist group which abducted me. It is through media reports that I came to know that they were members of the Islamic State,” he said.
He said they had given him medicines for minor ailments and food. “This proves that they have goodness in their heart,” he added.
Father Tom further said he had no contact with outside world till he reached Oman after the release.
“I had no idea about the people who were behind my release from captivity. Don’t know if there were more captives. They just told me that I am going to be released to Kerala,” he said.
He stated that it was not the hardwork of a single person but the hard work and prayers of many people that led to his release from captivity.
“They forced me to request for my release in the two video clips,” he said.
“God has taught us to forgive enemies. I believe that as a priest I should follow his teaching,” he added.
