Joanna Palani recently returned to Denmark after fighting against ISIS in Syria — but not to a hero’s welcome.
An ISIS-hunting female sniper returned home after killing more than 100 enemy jihadists, training other female fighters, and even rescuing sex slaves from the clutches of their militant rapists. However, instead of receiving a hero’s welcome, her liberal countrymen gave her the most sickening gift they could possibly bestow on a returning soldier.
Joanna Palani isn’t your average 23-year-old. While attending college, the Danish citizen of Iranian-Kurdish descent gave up her political studies to head to Syria and battle the barbaric Islamic terrorist group. Born as a refugee in a UN camp, Palani felt it her duty to defend the Kurdish people who cannot make it out of the region as well as her fellow citizens from the Islamic terrorism that’s plaguing Europe. Unfortunately, Denmark’s pro-migration, pro-Islam leftists didn’t see it that way.
After Palani, who’s known as the “Angel of Death” to ISIS fighters, returned to Denmark, she was immediately treated as a “terrorist” by the country’s leftists. Mirror reports that when word spread that Palani had killed over 100 ISIS jihadists and freed a group of women and children being held as sex slaves, certain locals made her a pariah. However, the worst of it is that Palani now faces a prison sentence after combatting Islamic terrorism.
Not only is Palani under threat from militants who are making it their mission to make her a sex slave for killing so many Muslims, she is now afraid for her life back in Denmark. Because she traveled to Syria during a travel ban last summer, the Danish government is alleging that she broke anti-terror laws, resulting in her being charged with terrorism-related crimes. After being arrested on December 7, she now faces 6 months in jail for fighting against ISIS, even though jihadists returning from fighting for the terrorist group are given rehabilitation and spared prison, according to Daily Mail.
Further showcasing the liberal country’s backward policies, Palani is currently homeless and treated as a criminal by her fellow citizens. Before losing everything upon her return to Denmark, she was forced into hiding when she discovered that jihadists placed a $1 million “kill or capture” bounty on her head.
“I was willing to give up my life and my freedom to stop Isis advancing, so that everyone in Europe can be safe. This was my choice. But I am seen as a terrorist by my own country,” Palani told the Daily Mail. “I am sorry I had to break the travel ban [imposed on me], but I felt I had no choice. I did not expect to lose almost everything for fighting for the safety of the same country which is now trying to take my freedom.”
Palani explained that the reason she returned to Syria was that, after training a group of female fighters to combat ISIS, she later found out that many of the women in her unit had either died or been injured.
“I live in one of the best countries in the world but I am hungry and homeless and freezing cold in bed at night, even though I am working full time,” she said. “I don’t trust anyone. I don’t want ISIS to threaten European countries or people in the same way they have done in Kurdistan.”
While Palani awaits her court hearing, she is forced to move to a new location every 3 days. Incredibly, the abuse she has faced for defending her native people and her Danish countrymen hasn’t dampened her spirit.
“The Danish government is trying to set an example of me in court so they can say publicly that I am just the same as ISIS, but I am not a criminal,” she said. “I would take ten years in jail with pride to save people but I wouldn’t accept one day in jail for being a danger to Denmark. I don’t understand why they [the Danish intelligence service] would view me as a threat when I was fighting for Europe and for females everywhere.”
Palani had already spent 3 weeks in prison before a judge released her on December 23. Of course, she might have been safer in jail as she quickly learned of the bounty placed on her head.
Palani has done more than any leftist who claims to stand for feminism, equality, and even refugees. Yet, she is looked at by those same liberal activists as a terrorist because their devotion to protecting Islam comes first. Muslims may return to the protection of their host country after beheading and raping innocent civilians in the Middle East, but Palani returns as a criminal.
