Lashkar terrorist Abu Dujana was killed on Tuesday reportedly as he sneaked into a house in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir, to meet his wife.
The fact that he went to meet his wife from time to time was known to Jammu & Kashmir police and having watched him on two earlier occasions, a certain pattern of timing and pre-arrival locational environment was noticed.
As soon as the input on his impending arrival at a Hakripora residential complex was received, J&K police deployed its personnel around the house and watched silently under cover for two hours till reinforcements arrived.
Joint cordon and search operations were launched, led by the J&K police and its special operations group. They were assisted by 182 Battalion, 183 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force and 55 Rashtriya Rifles. The operation was launched at 4:30 am, after the forces received a confirmed intelligence input about the presence of militants in Hakripora village of Pulwama.
The militants were inside the residential complex. In a bid to flush out the terrorists, the security forces had to blow up the house, as there was no other option.
Dujana planned and executed major terror actions in South Kashmir. He is believed to have replaced Abu Qasim as LeT head of operations in South Kashmir since 2015 when Qasim was killed.
